Steps
Register at api.hazardhub.com/users/sign_up and copy the API token from the account profile page.
Call GET /v1/me with an 'Authorization: Token token=<TOKEN>' header to confirm the token and remaining daily quota.
Call GET /v1/risks with lat/lng or a full address to retrieve per-peril score cards (wildfire, flood, earthquake, wind, hail, tornado, sinkhole) plus environmental and crime data.
Call GET /v1/property for parcel/structure characteristics, or GET /v1/risks_and_property to retrieve both in one call.
Parse the per-peril score, text, and distance-to-hazard fields into the underwriting rules engine.
Known gotchas
This standalone REST API is for non-Guidewire carriers; Guidewire customers instead get HazardHub data natively inside PolicyCenter/InsuranceNow without calling this API directly.
Daily request quotas are tied to the registered account tier — bulk/batch lookups can exhaust quota faster than expected.
Response schema and peril coverage have expanded since the API's original release — validate fields defensively rather than assuming a fixed set.
