Steps
Register an app at developer.ticketmaster.com to obtain an API key
Call the Discovery API v2 events search endpoint with the key passed as an apikey query parameter
Filter results using supported query parameters such as classification, city, or date range
Paginate through the response using the page and size parameters
Resolve related venue and attraction IDs from the embedded response objects for a full event profile
Known gotchas
Only the Discovery API is self-serve and publicly documented; do not use or reference a self-serve 'Commerce API' for purchasing tickets — commerce/checkout access is granted only to select approved partners, not via public signup
The account-level daily call quota (roughly 5,000 calls/day on a standard developer key) and per-second rate limit are enforced; watch for throttling responses and check current limits in your app dashboard rather than assuming a fixed number
Discovery API is read-only for discovery/search use cases — it cannot create orders or issue tickets
