Steps
Log in to Albi as a user with Settings access and open Settings > Integrations.
Locate the Albi API entry; if not yet connected, click Connect to generate a new API key, which displays on the right side of the page.
If already connected, click Configure under the Albi API section, then click Show Key to reveal the existing API key.
Store the key securely; it must be passed in the request header on all calls to the Albi API (base path https://api.albiware.com/v5/Integrations/).
Confirm the key works by calling a read-only endpoint such as Get All Projects before building further integration logic.
Known gotchas
The API key is organization-wide — anyone with the key can read and write project, contact, and financial data across your Albi account.
Regenerating/reconnecting the integration may invalidate a previously issued key, breaking existing integrations that still reference the old key.
Albi's public API reference is hosted on a third-party docs platform (readme.io) at albi.readme.io — bookmark it separately from your Albi login since browsing it does not require an Albi session.
