Steps

  1. Publish the item via the Inventory/Trading API as usual — Authenticity Guarantee enrollment is automatic for eligible categories (watches, sneakers, handbags, apparel, trading cards, jewelry), with no opt-in call
  2. Ensure the offer has at least one shipping option and a handling time of three days or less, both required for AG eligibility
  3. Check for warning code 21920343 in the listing response (or IsItemEMSEligible via GetItem) to confirm AG qualification, and 21920344 for bundled eBay-provided shipping
  4. On order creation, read eBayEstimatedLabelCost (Trading API) or shippingLabelProvidedBy=EBAY (Fulfillment API getOrder) to detect that eBay is covering the label to the authenticator
  5. Ship the physical item to the authenticator first using the eBay-provided label; it only proceeds to the buyer after authentication clears
