Steps
Go to the NRPA CPSI registry/directory page (nrpa.org/certification/CPSI/cpsi-online-registry) rather than a third-party directory.
Search the registry by name or by state to confirm the individual is listed as currently certified.
Note that newly certified individuals may take several weeks after their exam date to appear in the registry.
If the person isn't found or you need official confirmation, contact NRPA customer service directly for verification.
Check separately for international-registry or contractor-registry listings if the inspector works outside the standard U.S. public registry population.
Known gotchas
NRPA does maintain a public CPSI registry — do not assume no lookup exists; confirm current search functionality on nrpa.org since site tools can change.
A registry listing confirms certification status but not scope of work or contractor status; check the specific registry segment (U.S., international, contractor).
