Steps

  1. Open the PSIX Vessel Search form at https://cgmix.uscg.mil/PSIX/PSIXSearch.aspx.
  2. Enter one of: Vessel Name, Primary Vessel (Official) Number, or Hull Identification Number (HIN) as the search key.
  3. Optionally narrow by Vessel Flag, Vessel Service, or Build Year.
  4. Submit the search and read the returned record: name, official number, HIN, flag, service type, dimensions/build year, and Certificate of Documentation status.
  5. For ownership/lien history, note that this public form does not return owner PII — an official Abstract of Title must be separately ordered from the National Vessel Documentation Center.
