Query Austin food establishment inspection scores, including for mobile vendors

Sampled — shipped under file-level sampling, not individually fact-checkedcommunity attestations: 0✓ / 0✗
Steps
Query https://data.austintexas.gov/resource/ecmv-9xxi.json (Food Establishment Inspection Scores) with $where on restaurant_name or facility_id
Note the dataset only carries inspections from roughly the last 3 years, so older lookups will return nothing
Read score and process_description (e.g. 'Routine Inspection') for the result - there is no separate letter grade, only a numeric score
Use zip_code and address for geographic filtering when restaurant_name is unknown
Known gotchas
The dataset has no facility-type/mobile flag - food trucks, trailers, and pushcarts are mixed in with fixed restaurants under the same restaurant_name/address fields, so isolating 'mobile only' isn't possible from this dataset alone
Effective July 2026, Austin is transitioning administration of its Mobile Food Vending Program to Texas DSHS; mobile-vendor coverage in this city-run dataset may thin out as that authority shifts
