Note that DSIRE (Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency) is free to browse at dsireusa.org, but its API for programmatic access is a paid subscription product operated by NC Clean Energy Technology Center (NCCETC), not a free public API.
Contact dsire-admin@ncsu.edu or use the request process at dsireusa.org/dsire-api to arrange subscriber access and receive an API key.
Query the documented endpoints (docs.dsireusa.org) filtered by state/territory and technology to retrieve current policies and financial incentives, including heat-pump-relevant rebates and tax credits.
Cache results on a scheduled refresh (e.g., weekly) rather than polling continuously, since incentive/policy data changes on a legislative timeline, not in real time.
