Steps

  1. Request Asset Tracking API access through public.railinc.com/developers/get-started.
  2. Get provisioned with RailSight credentials tied to your Railinc customer account.
  3. Call the Last Event request for a single railcar's most recent reported event, or Event History for events between two dates.
  4. Use Active Trip or Active Trip Trace to retrieve events, waybill data, and trip plan ETA for the car's current move.
  5. Use Trace History for a full history combining events, waybill data, and ETA over a date range, returned in JSON.
