Steps Resolve or create the Customer and Location IDs first (JPM requires both before a job can be booked). POST to the JPM v2 jobs endpoint with customerId, locationId, businessUnitId, jobTypeId, and at least one appointment window. ServiceTitan auto-creates the first appointment on booking; add further appointments via the appointments sub-resource if needed. Optionally assign a technician to the appointment; assignment is optional at booking time but required before the appointment can be started. Confirm the booking via the returned job ID and appointment ID before syncing status back to your system.
Known gotchas A job cannot be started without at least one assigned technician on its appointment, even though assignment isn't required at creation. Business Unit and Job Type IDs are tenant-specific reference data — fetch them per tenant rather than hardcoding. Rate limits apply per app per tenant; batch job creation carefully to avoid throttling.
