Steps
Request PCBWay API partner access by contacting PCBWay, describing your company and business use case — every applicant is reviewed and approval is not automatic.
Once approved, receive an api-key credential for the partner API at api-partner.pcbway.com.
POST board parameters (Length, Width, Layers, Qty, Material, SolderMask, SurfaceFinish, etc.) as JSON to POST api/Pcb/PcbQuotation with header api-key: <your key> and Content-Type: application/json to get priceList and shipping options back.
Host your Gerber/panel file at a URL you control and pass it via the pcbFileUrl (+ PcbFileName) field — PCBWay pulls the file rather than accepting direct binary upload.
Call POST api/Pcb/ConfirmOrder to place the order, then POST api/Pcb/QueryOrderProcess to poll fabrication status.
Known gotchas
Access is gated behind manual approval to a named PCBWay contact, not a self-serve dashboard signup.
The quotation request schema is large with interdependent required fields (e.g. FR4Tg required only when Layers>=4, GoldPlatingType required only when Goldfingers='Yes') — easy to submit invalid combinations.
The assembly/PCBA API is documented as still under construction — only the bare PCB fabrication API is confirmed functional.
