Steps
Request an Order Creation API key on McLeod's Innovation Hub for the target tenant
POST an Order Request payload with shipper, consignee, and load details
Check whether the tenant is configured for auto-accept or manual review - your integration must handle both outcomes
Poll or check status on pending Order Requests that require manual review before they become a live order
Update or resubmit an Order Request as needed prior to acceptance; capture the returned order ID once accepted
Wire the resulting order ID into Track and Trace calls for downstream visibility
Known gotchas
A submitted Order Request is not guaranteed to become an order - tenant configuration determines auto-accept vs. manual review, and your integration must poll for the outcome
This API only returns the order ID upon acceptance, so downstream systems referencing an order before acceptance will have nothing to look up yet
