Register for API access at the OneSource portal (portal.dc-onesource.com) to get credentials
Browse the supplier directory to confirm which suppliers and PromoStandards service types (Product Data, Inventory, Order Status, etc.) are available through OneSource before building
Call the OneSource REST endpoints (documented on the Stoplight-hosted OneSource API reference) to pull Product Data, Media Content, Inventory, Order Status, Invoice, Purchase Order, PPC, or Order Shipment Notification data for a chosen supplier
Set a preferred PromoStandards version in your account/request config so OneSource's version translation service normalizes every supplier's native version to your chosen target
Rely on OMG's validated data feed rather than re-validating raw supplier feeds yourself, but still spot-check critical fields for your own catalog
Known gotchas
OneSource is a paid aggregation layer on top of suppliers' real PromoStandards feeds, not a free public API — access requires signup/credentials through the portal
Even with version translation, translated fields are only as good as what the source supplier actually populates; gaps in a supplier's raw feed pass through as gaps
OneSource is operated by OrderMyGear, which also owns/operates DistributorCentral — the same underlying credentials and supplier directory show up under both brand names, which can cause confusion when reading documentation
