Twilio Verify for teams leaving Authy — the full failure-mode walkthrough related to twilio.com, checked against official docs, with linked verified routes.
Steps
Upload required documents (e.g. Utility Bill) via the Documents API and capture the document SID.
POST to https://numbers.twilio.com/v1/Porting/PortIn with losing_carrier_information, phone_numbers (E.164, plus pin for mobile), and documents.
Twilio auto-generates an electronic LOA and emails it to the authorized representative for e-signature.
Poll GET .../PortIn/{PortInRequestSid} or list PortInRequests to track status (In Review, Waiting for Signature, In Progress, Completed).
To cancel, DELETE the request more than 72 hours before the scheduled port date.
Known gotchas
Public Beta, US-only; toll-free numbers are not supported; max 1,000 numbers per request.
Signature window is 30 days — unsigned LOAs auto-cancel the request.
Auth uses API Key SID/Secret (HTTP Basic), not just Account SID/Auth Token, in production.
