Documented steps
Run `mc admin decommission status ALIAS` with no TARGET to list every server pool on the deployment with its pool ID, endpoint, and usage.
For classic deployments the TARGET is the full pool description, e.g. `https://minio-{01...04}.example.net:9000/mnt/disk{1...4}`.
For config.yaml deployments with multi-arg pool definitions, pools appear as `hash:<hex>` identifiers - use the full hash string as the TARGET, e.g. `hash:a10f38e84ec12b`.
Pass that TARGET to `mc admin decommission start|status|cancel ALIAS TARGET`.
Known gotchas
Using the wrong/changed pool definition as TARGET fails or targets the wrong pool - always derive TARGET from the live status list.
