Prepare the UAD 3.6 appraisal delivery package as a ZIP archive containing the XML data file, a human-readable PDF, and all associated images and exhibits, conforming to the UAD 3.6 schema
Use the UCDP pre-validation API (available since September 2025) to check the ZIP package against UAD 3.6 data rules before submission, resolving any field presence or type errors
Authenticate to the UCDP Direct Integration API using the lender's UCDP credentials and submit the ZIP package via the DI API upload endpoint, receiving a submission ID
Poll the submission status endpoint using the submission ID until the UCDP returns a final status of Successful, Successful with Warnings, or Failed
Retrieve the UCDP submission summary report, which includes SSR (Submission Summary Report) data, risk flags, and any hard-stop conditions that must be resolved before delivery
Store the Fannie Mae Document File ID and Freddie Mac Document File ID from the SSR in the LOS for use during loan delivery to the respective GSE
Known gotchas
UAD 3.6 is mandatory for all new UCDP submissions starting November 2, 2026; between January 26, 2026 and that date, both UAD 2.6 and 3.6 are accepted but the schemas are not compatible—do not mix field sets from both versions in a single submission
The ZIP package structure is strictly specified; submitting a flat XML file (the UAD 2.6 approach) to the UAD 3.6 endpoint will be rejected even if the XML is internally valid
The UCDP issues separate document file IDs for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac even for a single submission; loan delivery to each GSE requires the correct GSE-specific ID, and using the wrong ID will cause a loan delivery fatal edit
