Steps

  1. Go to Gear icon > Manage Account > Timekeeper subtab and set Payroll System to QuickBooks Desktop
  2. On each employee record (Employees > Manage Employees), set Employee Ref. ID to match the Employee ID in QuickBooks Desktop; on each location (Customers > Manage Locations), set Payroll Ref. ID to match the location's Account No. in QuickBooks Desktop
  3. Process payroll as usual, then go to Gear icon > Payroll > Manage Payroll and click the QuickBooks Export button for the processed payroll
  4. Fill out the one-time export configuration fields (Version, Release, Product, IIF Version, etc.) and click Export to generate the .IIF file
  5. In QuickBooks Desktop, switch to Single User Mode, then use File > Utilities > Import > IIF File, select the generated file, and import; review the New Hire List report afterward to finish setting up any newly-created employees
