Steps
Build and activate a Data Cloud segment that targets the unified Individual profiles meeting the desired criteria
In Data Cloud, create a Data Action Target of type Marketing Cloud and configure the connection using the Marketing Cloud connector credentials
Define a Data Action that fires when a profile enters or exits the segment, mapping Data Cloud unified profile attributes to the target Marketing Cloud Data Extension columns
Activate the Data Action and confirm the target Data Extension is created or updated in Marketing Cloud
Verify that contact records flowing into the segment appear in the Marketing Cloud Data Extension within the expected sync latency
Use the synchronized Data Extension as an audience in a Marketing Cloud send or as a journey entry source
Known gotchas
Data Action sync latency is not real-time; there is a processing delay between segment membership change and Data Extension update that must be accounted for in time-sensitive campaign logic
The attribute mapping between Data Cloud Data Model Object attributes and Marketing Cloud Data Extension columns must include the Marketing Cloud contact key column for proper subscriber identity linkage
Data Actions consume Data Cloud activation credits; large segments with frequent membership churn can exhaust activation entitlements quickly
