Steps

  1. Identify every submittal category the spec requires: shop drawings, material samples (veneer flitches, core materials, sheet products), finish samples, and hardware data.
  2. Format shop drawings to AWI 100's communication standard so scope, dimensions, and materials are unambiguous to the reviewing architect.
  3. Include supporting product data and grade/duty-level callouts consistent with whichever AWI standard governs fabrication on the project.
  4. Route the package for architect/owner review and track responses before releasing fabrication.
  5. Retain a submittal log documenting revisions and resubmittals, needed for QCP or CCP inspection records if certification is in play.
