Apply for access to the Visa Intelligent Commerce platform via the Visa Developer Center; Agent Score is part of the VIC suite announced at Visa Payments Forum June 2026.
Submit your merchant site URL to the Agent Score evaluation service; Agent Score (created in partnership with New Generation) crawls and analyzes your site to determine whether AI agents can navigate, understand, and complete tasks on your pages.
Review the score report which identifies specific barriers: missing structured data, JavaScript-only checkout flows that block headless agents, missing product schema.org markup, and authentication flows incompatible with agent identity.
Address the identified barriers: add schema.org/Product markup to PDPs, ensure checkout is accessible without JavaScript-exclusive interactions, and implement Visa TAP or UCP-compatible agent authentication at your checkout.
Re-run Agent Score after remediation to confirm improvement; a high Agent Score is a prerequisite for optimal placement in Visa's Agentic Directory and for eligibility in premium VIC Connect tier listings.
Known gotchas
Agent Score measures site navigability for AI agents, not transaction fraud risk; a high Agent Score does not indicate low fraud risk — integrate standard Visa fraud controls independently.
The service is in pilot as of June 2026; evaluation turnaround times and scoring methodology are subject to change as the pilot expands.
Fixing JavaScript-only checkout flows is typically the highest-effort remediation; if your checkout relies on a third-party hosted page, coordinate with your PSP to confirm their checkout is agent-compatible before reporting your own Agent Score as ready.
