Steps
Go to drinkingwater.state.pa.us/dwrs/HTM/Welcome.html for dynamic inventory and sample-result reports on Pennsylvania public water systems, sourced from the Pennsylvania Drinking Water Information System (PADWIS).
Use the accompanying instructions PDF (drinkingwater.state.pa.us/DWRS_Instructions.pdf) to learn the available query parameters (system ID, county, system type).
For a system's consumer-facing detection/violation summary used to compile its annual Consumer Confidence Report, use the separate CCR Data tool at drinkingwater.state.pa.us/ccr/Welcome.html.
Confirm the site is current by checking that its footer/branding matches the current PA DEP administration (confirmed live under Secretary Jessica Shirley, Gov. Josh Shapiro, as of this check).
Known gotchas
The legacy state.pa.us domain looks deprecated compared to newer pa.gov pages, but it was confirmed live and actively maintained — don't assume it's defunct on URL style alone; re-verify at query time since PA has been migrating services to pa.gov.
DWRS and the CCR tool are two separate interfaces on the same underlying system — use DWRS for inventory/raw sample data and the CCR tool specifically for annual consumer-report detection/violation summaries.
