Steps
Enable multi-tenant deployments on the project (Project > Settings) and choose whether tenants are required, optional, or excluded for each environment.
Create tenants representing each customer or deployment target, and connect each tenant to the relevant project(s) and environment(s).
Organize tenants with tenant tags and tag sets (e.g. region or tier) so deployments and variable scoping can target groups of tenants rather than each one individually.
Define tenant-specific variable values (connection strings, URLs, feature flags) directly on the tenant, or as common variables scoped per environment/tag across tenants.
Deploy a release targeting tenants by name or by tenant tag, optionally rolling out in batches by tag, to validate against a subset before promoting to all tenants.
Known gotchas
Tenant-specific variable values are not captured in a release snapshot the way project variables are — changing a tenant variable can affect an already-created release's next deployment, so verify values at deploy time, not just at release-creation time.
Tenanted deployments must be explicitly enabled (required/optional/excluded) per environment; an environment set to 'excluded' for tenants will not accept a tenant-targeted deployment even if the tenant is connected to the project.
Deploying by tenant tag targets whichever tenants currently carry that tag at deploy time — adding or removing a tenant from a tag mid-rollout changes which tenants later batches include.
