Integrate with a lounge access network API such as Priority Pass, LoungeKey, or DragonPass using your partner credentials; these APIs provide lounge location data, eligibility rules, and guest pass pricing.
Query lounge availability at a given airport (by IATA code) using the lounges endpoint; parse the returned list of lounges including terminal, opening hours, capacity limitations, and supported access methods (card network, membership, day pass).
Check traveler eligibility by passing their payment card BIN range or membership ID to the eligibility check endpoint; the response indicates access type (complimentary, paid day pass) and any guest allowance.
If the traveler is eligible, generate a digital guest pass or QR code via the pass issuance endpoint; deliver it to the traveler before their departure.
For day-pass purchases (ineligible travelers), initiate a charge via the payment endpoint and issue the day pass; track usage for reconciliation with the lounge network.
Implement a usage recording call after each lounge visit if required by the network for billing reconciliation; some networks charge per-visit to the card issuer or benefit provider.
Known gotchas
Lounge access eligibility depends on the specific credit card product, not just the card network; two Visa cardholders may have different lounge benefits — always check by BIN and product code.
Lounges have capacity limits and can turn away eligible visitors during peak times; the API typically cannot reflect real-time capacity, so advise travelers to arrive early.
Some lounges are not part of any network program and must be accessed via direct airline status or a separate voucher — these will not appear in aggregated lounge APIs.
