Steps
Authenticate against the Aurora API per docs.aurorasolar.com and confirm the org's plan includes the Design API add-on (AutoDesigner/Irradiance/Performance Simulation are add-on endpoints, not included on every tier)
Create or pull the project record, then trigger AutoDesigner to generate a proposal-ready layout from address/roof data
Run Irradiance Analysis and Performance Simulation endpoints against the generated design to produce production estimates
Use the Proposals endpoint to assemble the customer-facing proposal document from the simulated design
Subscribe to Aurora's webhooks (available starting on the Build plan) to trigger downstream CRM/e-sign steps when a design or proposal status changes
Known gotchas
AutoDesigner output is a starting point, not a stamped design — an installer/engineer still needs to review structural and electrical specifics before permit submission
Design API access is a paid add-on on top of the base Aurora subscription; confirm entitlement before building automation that assumes universal access
API is OpenAPI-spec based with versioned endpoints — pin a spec version in production integrations since Aurora ships frequent changelog updates
