Steps
Connect Redpanda Console to the cluster and open the Consumer Groups view to inspect group members, assigned partitions, and per-partition lag.
Use the Topics message browser with key, timestamp, and custom filters, including programmable JavaScript push filters, to isolate problematic messages.
Identify a bad deploy by rewinding a stuck consumer group's offsets to a point before the faulty release using the offset editing UI, then restart consumers.
Cross-check the equivalent CLI view with rpk group describe when scripting the same rewind operation instead of using the UI.
Use the Rewind and Replay feature to reprocess a range of messages for backfill or reprocessing after a bug fix.
Known gotchas
Manually rewinding offsets from the Console only takes effect once all members of the consumer group have stopped; editing offsets while consumers are actively polling gets overwritten on the next commit.
Custom JavaScript push filters run against message payloads and can be slow over large topics; scope the time or offset range first.
