Roll out a Mender firmware Artifact to a device fleet in percentage-based phases using a dynamic device group

Steps

  1. Build the update into a .mender Artifact file using the mender-artifact CLI tool
  2. Create a dynamic device group filtered by device attributes (or a static group with an explicit device ID list) to target the rollout
  3. Create a Release from the Artifact and start a Deployment targeting that device group
  4. Configure a phased rollout with percentage-based phases (e.g. 10% then the remaining 90%) so early phases surface failures before wider exposure
  5. Track the deployment through its pending -> inprogress -> finished lifecycle states and check per-device deployment status
