Query authoritative civil-aviation reference datasets via the ICAO API Data Service

Sampled — shipped under file-level sampling, not individually fact-checkedcommunity attestations: 0✓ / 0✗
Steps
Register for an ICAO API Data Service account via icao.int/api-data-service; the first 100 API calls are free, after which a paid plan is required.
Obtain your API key/token from the ICAO API portal after registration.
Select the target dataset from the catalogue (e.g., Airport Codes DOC7910, Airline Codes DOC8585, Aircraft Type Designators DOC8643, NOTAM or traffic-statistics datasets).
Call the corresponding endpoint with your key, requesting CSV or JSON output as supported.
Parse the returned dataset records, noting some are static reference data while others (NOTAMs, traffic stats) update on a schedule.
Known gotchas
Only 100 free calls total are included before a paid plan is required - budget testing calls carefully.
The service spans 50+ distinct APIs across six data areas; consult the current catalogue/sample downloads to confirm exact endpoint paths and field names for your dataset.
Some datasets are official ICAO reference codes (authoritative) while others are aggregated/derived - treat their authority differently in downstream logic.
