For historical (pre-2026) fire-incident data, expect to reference archived NFIRS datasets rather than a live NFIRS query tool
For a specific state, check that state fire marshal's own NERIS transition guidance (e.g., Minnesota DPS, New York DHSES, and Texas TDI have all published transition pages)
