Look up a vessel's static particulars (type, dimensions, flag, tonnage) via VesselFinder's Master Data API before it arrives at the marina.

Steps
Use the same VesselFinder API account/credits used for position queries
Call the MASTERDATA endpoint (https://api.vesselfinder.com/masterdata) with the vessel's IMO number - VesselFinder's marketing pages call this same dataset 'Vessel Particulars'
Request the response fields for registered dimensions (length, beam, max draught), gross/net tonnage, and flag state
Cross-check returned particulars against slip/berth size limits before confirming a reservation
Store the particulars record locally to avoid repeat lookups for repeat visitors
Known gotchas
Particulars data reflects registry records and may lag real-world refits or flag changes
This is a separate endpoint/dataset (MASTERDATA) from the live-position VESSELS API - the marketing site's 'Vessel Particulars' name and the docs' 'Master Data' name refer to the same underlying endpoint
Coverage is best for larger/commercial vessels; small recreational craft without AIS transponders won't appear
