Search by individual name, business name, or license number
Review the returned license type, status, and expiration to confirm current standing
Cross-reference the Chapter 493 license category (e.g. Class B agency, Class D/G individual) relevant to the check
Known gotchas
REGULATED and a name-collision trap: Florida private security licensing (Chapter 493) is regulated by FDACS (Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services), NOT by DBPR/MyFloridaLicense.com, which handles most of Florida's other professional licenses — searching the DBPR portal returns no results for security licenses
