Steps

  1. Choose a base URL: /data/Result/search? for sample results, or /data/Station/search? for site metadata
  2. Filter by statecode (US:FIPS), countycode, bBox, or siteid, plus characteristicName (case-sensitive, e.g. 'Atrazine') or pCode
  3. Restrict dates with startDateLo/startDateHi (MM-DD-YYYY)
  4. Set mimeType=csv|xlsx|tsv|geojson|kml|xml (default xml/WQX if omitted) and add zip=yes to compress the response
  5. For very long queries (e.g. hundreds of site IDs), switch to HTTP POST with a JSON body against the same search endpoint instead of GET
