Steps
Provision access to the Frame.io V4 API, currently available in Early Access without requiring the Adobe Admin Console.
Authenticate and enumerate the workspace's Projects/Folders to locate the target review location.
Upload or reference media as a File resource, grouping related versions into a Version Stack so reviewers see them as one ordered item.
Use the comment/annotation endpoints to programmatically post timestamped review comments or read existing reviewer feedback.
Set up webhooks or polling to detect status changes such as new comments or approvals and trigger downstream automation.
Known gotchas
The V4 API is a ground-up redesign from the legacy Frame.io API; legacy concepts and endpoints are not directly portable, so consult the migration guide before porting existing integrations.
Version Stack ordering is strictly linear and determines version numbers automatically, so reordering files changes their version numbering, not just display order.
Early Access status means endpoints and auth requirements may still change, so pin to documented versions and watch the changelog before relying on it in production.
