Documented steps

  1. cd into the package folder.
  2. Run `npm publish --dry-run` to compute and pack the exact tarball that would be uploaded, printing the file list and size without publishing anything.
  3. Review the listed files against your intended distribution (README, LICENSE, compiled output present; node_modules, tests, locks absent).
  4. Adjust the files field or .npmignore as needed and re-run the dry-run until the file set is correct.
  5. Only then run the real `npm publish`.
