Authenticate with a vendor bearer token as with other Vendor API resources
Create an address record via the Addresses endpoint before referencing it as address_id on item create/update calls
List existing addresses to reuse an address_id across multiple consigned items instead of recreating it per item
Update an item's address_id via PATCH /v1/items/{id} when inventory ships from a different warehouse/location, reusing the same vendor_sku
Delete addresses once no active items reference them
Known gotchas
Deleting an address still associated with active items fails with an explicit error rather than silently orphaning the reference
Resubmitting to change an item's address_id requires reusing the exact same vendor_sku as the original submission, or the update is treated as a new item
