Steps

1. Authenticate to the LexisNexis Risk Solutions API gateway using your contracted credentials and review available insurance-specific data products (CLUE Auto, CLUE Property, MVR, Attract)
2. For personal auto underwriting, submit a CLUE Auto inquiry with the VIN or insured's name and date of birth to retrieve prior auto claims history for the past 7 years
3. For homeowners underwriting, submit a CLUE Property inquiry with the property address to retrieve prior property insurance claims on the location
4. For auto rating, request the MVR (motor vehicle record) for each listed driver to retrieve violations, accidents, and license status
5. Parse the CLUE and MVR responses, map each returned item to the corresponding underwriting factor in the rating engine, and apply surcharges or eligibility exclusions as defined in the rating plan
6. Store the inquiry audit trail (request timestamp, response transaction ID, data used in rating decision) for regulatory compliance and adverse action documentation
