Steps
POST to /api/v1/accounts to create or update a Jumio account for the user, providing customerInternalReference and userReference
In the same or a subsequent request, include a workflowDefinition object specifying the workflow ID for your document plus liveness check
Receive the web.href URL in the response and redirect or embed it for the end user to complete the verification
Configure your successUrl and errorUrl in the workflowDefinition.credentials so Jumio redirects back after completion
Handle the workflow.completed webhook event and inspect the decision.type (PASSED, FAILED, WARNING) and decision.details fields
Known gotchas
The workflowDefinition.credentials array determines which document types and capture modes are enabled; misconfiguration causes the user to see a blank flow
Jumio sessions expire after a configurable duration (default 30 minutes); generate a new account initiation token if the user returns after expiry
The customerInternalReference must be unique per verification attempt; reusing it across attempts will cause data to merge on the same account
