Steps

  1. Set up API keys or OAuth client credentials in the Proof developer dashboard and test against the sandbox environment first
  2. Tag the document with notary signature/seal placement using document tagging (white-text tags or the tagging API) before creating the transaction
  3. Call the create transaction endpoint on the Business API, attaching the tagged document(s) and specifying signer and notary details
  4. Either let Proof email the signer an invitation, or retrieve the transaction access link via the API and deliver it through your own application
  5. Register a Webhooks V2 endpoint to receive transaction status events (e.g., signing complete, notarized) instead of polling for status
  6. After completion, call the document retrieval endpoints to download the notarized document and its notarization record/audit trail
