Steps

  1. Enroll as an E-Verify Employer with Web Services as your access method (or, if creating cases on behalf of other companies, separately enroll as an E-Verify Employer Agent via its own MOU)
  2. Request the current Interface Control Agreement (ICA) package from E-Verify, which defines the message schema, sandbox test region, and required case-creation data elements
  3. Build your integration to the ICA spec, complete the mandatory Web Services training modules, and pass USCIS conformance testing before you're authorized for live case submission
  4. Extract Form I-9 data (name, DOB, SSN, List A/B/C document info) from your HRIS/onboarding system and submit an E-Verify case creation transaction, then poll for the verification result (e.g., Employment Authorized, Tentative Nonconfirmation)
  5. On a Tentative Nonconfirmation (TNC), generate the Further Action Notice, notify the employee, and track the contest/resolution window per federal process
