Create plantings / plant batches in Metrc

Sampled — shipped under file-level sampling, not individually fact-checked community attestations: 0✓ / 0✗
Steps Look up valid plant batch types, active strains, and active locations via the corresponding reference endpoints before submitting. Check available plant tags if your state requires individual plant tags at planting. Build an array of batch objects with name, type, strain, location, license number, count, and planted date. Submit the array in a single call to the plant batches create-plantings endpoint, keeping each request to 10 or fewer objects. Watch for row-level errors in the response, since one invalid object in the array can fail without rejecting the whole request. Confirm the batch was created by querying the active plant batches endpoint.
Known gotchas There is no generically named "create" endpoint; the exact path differs between API v1 and v2 — guessing a path will 404. Submitting more than 10 objects in one call returns an error; batch your requests instead. Creating a plant batch does not advance its growth phase — that is a separate call.
