Steps

  1. In the input's caption selectors, add a selector and choose Embedded as the source type for EIA-608/CEA-708 captions carried in the video stream.
  2. For passthrough, create a single embedded captions selector so embedded caption tracks pass through unchanged.
  3. For format conversion, create one captions selector per target language, setting the EIA-608 track number to select the correct CC instance from the input.
  4. If the source may combine embedded captions with SCTE-20, set SCTE-20 detection to Auto so MediaLive prefers 608/708 but falls back to SCTE-20 when needed.
  5. Attach the configured captions selector(s) to the output group's caption descriptions so the encoded output carries the caption tracks.
