Steps
Contact Momentus to have Open API enabled for your account — it's a priced add-on, not available by default
As a System Admin, click your name in the upper-left corner, select System Admin, then open the Open API tab
Click the + icon to open Create Open API Credentials, name the credential descriptively (e.g. "Contacts Write"), and check Write Permissions if the integration needs to insert/update data
Click Save, then immediately copy the displayed Client ID and Client Secret to a secure location — the secret cannot be retrieved again once the dialog closes
Create separate scoped credentials per integration purpose (e.g. a read-only "Calendar View" credential vs. a write-enabled "EventDraw Connector" credential)
Known gotchas
The Client Secret is shown exactly once; if you close the popup without copying it, you must delete and recreate the credential
Open API access is gated behind a Momentus sales conversation — the self-service credential UI only appears after Momentus enables the feature for your account
Write Permissions is an explicit opt-in checkbox at credential-creation time — a credential created without it can only read, regardless of the API user's own in-app permissions
