Steps
Dataset 29fd-3paw, 'Restaurant and Market Health Inspections', is published on data.lacity.org's Socrata portal though compiled by LA County Dept. of Public Health Environmental Health
Query https://data.lacity.org/resource/29fd-3paw.json with $where on facility_name, facility_zip, or activity_date
Read score and grade for the letter-grade result, and program_status (ACTIVE/INACTIVE) for current operating status
Use facility_id or record_id to track one location across repeated inspections over time
Known gotchas
This LA City-hosted dataset covers most, but not all, of LA County - a handful of cities and unincorporated areas run their own environmental health programs and won't appear here
LA County's own data.lacounty.gov portal has migrated its restaurant-inspection datasets to ArcGIS Hub (the old Socrata ID 6ni6-h5kp now redirects there); that portal is not a SODA endpoint, so $where/$select SoQL syntax does not apply if you use it instead
