Steps

  1. Complete the Trimble Connect Get Started access guide to obtain an API token
  2. Identify the target model's file identifier via the Core File API
  3. Query the Model API for basic metadata/statistics (models are stored internally as a TrimBIM .trb representation)
  4. Request model entities (e.g., beams, slabs) and traverse hierarchies (spatial, assembly, system) to locate objects of interest
  5. Fetch the Property Sets attached to entities to read their attribute values
  6. Combine entity IDs with the Property Set API if you also need to write custom attributes back
