Complete the Tesla Fleet API OAuth flow and obtain the target energy_site_id
Read the site's current backup_reserve_percent and storm_mode_enabled settings from the energy site info endpoint
Confirm storm_mode_capable is true for the site before attempting to toggle storm watch
POST to the energy site's storm_mode endpoint to opt the site in or out of automatic storm watch reserve boosts
Adjust the backup reserve percentage via the corresponding site settings command endpoint
Known gotchas
Not all sites/hardware configurations are storm_mode_capable — sending the command against an unsupported configuration fails silently or errors rather than warning upfront
