Documented steps

  1. Build or locate the cpu-template-helper tool (Firecracker sources, docs/cpu_templates/cpu-template-helper.md)
  2. Run the helper against a running microVM to dump the effective CPUID/MSR/ARM-register set of the current template
  3. Use the dump to author a custom template JSON or to compare the current mask against a target feature set
  4. Feed the exported JSON into /cpu-config on other hosts to replicate the exact guest CPU personality
  5. Validate the diff output to ensure the new config did not silently drop or add features
