Delete a single object: mc rm ALIAS/BUCKET/object.txt.
Delete a whole bucket and all contents with --recursive --force: mc rm --recursive --force ALIAS/BUCKET.
With bucket versioning enabled, delete a specific version with --version-id <id> (list versions via mc ls --versions ALIAS/BUCKET).
Use mc rm --dry-run first to preview what would be removed without deleting.
Verify with mc ls ALIAS/BUCKET or mc stat.
Known gotchas
mc rm refuses non-recursive deletes of non-empty buckets unless --force and --recursive are both given.
A delete on a versioned bucket creates a delete-marker rather than erasing data unless you target a specific version ID; enabling version purging affects this.
Deletes without versioning are permanent and cannot be recovered — use dry-run first.
