Documented steps

Show basic info with `npm view <name>` (defaults to the latest version).
Read a specific field at a specific version: `npm view <name>@<version> dependencies`.
List every published version: `npm view <name> versions`.
Read nested fields with dot notation: `npm view <name> repository.url`.
Emit JSON for scripting with `npm view <name> --json`.

Known gotchas

The default version shown is 'latest'; pass an explicit @version or version range to see others.
Version ranges print data for every matching version, each prefixed with the version it applies to.
Array fields return all values (e.g. contributors.email), while numeric bracket indices select one item.
Child fields use period separators: `npm view npm repository.url`.
