Steps
Determine whether you need interactive AI-agent search (SeekOut MCP) or unattended automation — as of 2026 SeekOut's primary agent-facing surface is its MCP server, backed by an API key with org-specific permissions and rate limits
Request API/MCP access from SeekOut Support or your account team since there is no generally public self-serve developer portal for a broad REST API
Run searches across SeekOut's talent verticals (public profiles, GitHub, academic, healthcare, ATS/internal talent, or unified) through the provisioned MCP tools or API
Save sourced candidates to a SeekOut Workspace/project as you go
To export candidates into an ATS, configure the relevant one-way Export/Connect integration inside the SeekOut app (e.g. Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Bullhorn) using that target ATS's own API key entered in SeekOut — not a SeekOut-issued key
Confirm exported records landed correctly and check duplicate-candidate handling for the specific ATS integration used
Known gotchas
SeekOut does not expose a stable, universally documented public REST API — automated access is provisioned per organization with custom rate limits, so don't assume endpoints from one org's setup apply elsewhere
'Export' is configured with the destination ATS's own credentials inside SeekOut's UI, not called as a SeekOut endpoint from your own code — this is a common integration-direction mistake
Field mapping and duplicate detection differ per target ATS export integration; behavior verified for one (e.g. Greenhouse) doesn't necessarily hold for another (e.g. Bullhorn)
