Steps
Authenticate with OAuth2 against the apaleo Identity API as with other apaleo APIs
Call the Payment API (documented separately from the core Finance API) to read merchant account configuration
Download settlement reports for the desired date range
Retrieve transaction logs and invoice records associated with those settlements
Reconcile settlement totals against folio-level payments recorded in the Finance API
Known gotchas
The Payment API is a distinct Swagger definition from the core Finance API; folio charge posting belongs to Finance, while settlement/invoice/transaction-log retrieval belongs to Payment
Apaleo Pay is built on a third-party payment processor behind the scenes, so settlement timing and formats follow that processor's cycle, not the property's night audit
Not all properties have Apaleo Pay enabled as their payment processor, so this API returns no useful data for properties using an external, non-Apaleo-Pay processor
