3. Verify the tester has documented training from a recognized industry organization or from the manufacturer of the specific listed door — general building maintenance staff do not qualify absent that documentation.
4. Note that IDEA's Rolling Steel Fire Door Technician Certification is one recognized industry credential a technician may hold, but is not the only acceptable path.
5. Have the technician record test date, door/opening identifier, pass/fail result, and any corrective action, and retain the written record on premises for the AHJ.
